COLLEGE STUDENT CAR SHIPPING

Between move-in dates, classes and travel, a long drive is not always the best way to get a car to campus. Dreamline helps families and students plan vehicle transport for college, internships and moves home. Share the campus or nearby destination and when someone will be available to receive the vehicle.

01

Check campus parking before shipping

Confirm that the student can keep a vehicle at school and has the necessary parking permission. Some campuses limit first-year parking or restrict loading near residences. Vehicle transport does not arrange a campus permit or a place to store the car.

02

Plan a handoff outside move-in congestion

Campus move-in can bring road closures and heavy traffic. A transport truck may need a nearby public street or another approved loading area. Share the school schedule and coordinate an accessible location with the carrier.

03

Include the right contacts

A parent may release the car while a student receives it, or the reverse. Provide both phone numbers and make sure each person understands the inspection and key handoff. Keep your advisor informed if a flight or orientation schedule changes.

04

Keep belongings separate unless approved

A car shipment is not a substitute for a household moving service. Ask about any items you intend to leave inside and follow carrier restrictions. Remove valuables and prepare the vehicle for a clear condition inspection.
